Reupholstery Services

Customer’s Own Material (COM) Agreement

We are happy to work with your COM. This form explains how COM affects pricing, scheduling, and responsibility so that your project runs smoothly.

Our labor pricing assumes we supply your fabric. When we provide the fabric:

  • We earn a margin that helps support our labor pricing.

  • We can reorder fabric immediately if a mistake or shortage occurs.

  • We work with trusted vendors whose quality, consistency, and stock we know well.

When COM is used, these advantages are lost. For that reason:

COM Projects include a 20% base labor fee.

COM can create challenges that affect time, cost and results:

  • Availability Risk: If additional fabric is needed mid-project, COM may be sold out, discontinued, or on back order, which can delay or prevent completion.

  • Quality and Consistency: Many discount or online retail stores fabric may be seconds, discontinued goods, or flawed.

  • Handling issues: Wrinkles, creasing, misaligned printing, unstable weaves, and thin fabrics require extra labor to prep and apply.

  • Unknown vendor reliability: We cannot guarantee qualityor accuracy from outside vendors we do not work with regularly.

Fabric Shortages and Additional Yardage

If we are working with your COM we will not cover the cost of additional fabric needed to complete the job or additional labor to start a project over with another fabric if your COM is unavailable.

Labor Warranty when using COM

Because we cannot control the quality or behavior of COM, our normal labor warranty does not apply. We cannot cover issues from:

  • Fabric flaws becoming visible after upholstery.

  • Pattern misalignment

  • Pull marks, thin spots, or staple shadows

  • Excessive stretching or distortion

  • Pilling, wear, or color change

  • Backing failures

  • Seams behaving differently than expected.

We handle your fabric with care, but we cannot be held responsible for the performance, durability, or appearance of COM once applied.
