President

Greg Thayer grew up in the family business—literally. At just 10 years old, he began spending his summers learning the craft from his father, Ron Thayer, who had taken over the company from Greg’s grandfather, Edwin Albert Thayer, the original founder in 1955. What started as summer work quickly became a lifelong passion. After attending college, Greg made the decision to commit fully to the business, carrying on the family legacy into its third generation.

With a deep appreciation for quality, craftsmanship, and people, Greg leads Thayer Upholstery with a focus on attention to detail and strong relationships. He takes pride in the trust they’ve built with designers and customers over the years, and in creating a workplace that feels like family.

Greg’s vision continues to grow. From reupholstery and custom furniture to the launch of Thayer Designer Resource, he’s helping expand the company into a full-service destination for the interior design community. Watching his own children take an interest in the business, Greg is excited to see the fourth generation step in, ensuring Thayer Upholstery thrives for years to come.

Showroom Manager

Darcie Blackerby’s love for design began while traveling internationally in high school, where she was inspired by breathtaking architecture and interiors. This inspiration led her to pursue a degree in interior design from Oklahoma State University. Upon graduation in 2008, Darcie had the privilege of working under renowned designer Charles Faudree. Her five years with Charles were formative laying a strong foundation and instilling a deep appreciation for detail, artistry, and timeless design.

Darcie first worked alongside Greg Thayer during her time with Charles, developing a close working relationship with Greg & the Thayer Upholstery team. As Charles approached retirement, she partnered with Thayer Upholstery on the new furniture showroom and design studio in Tulsa. With her ambition and dedication the business has now expanded to include Thayer Designer Resource. Today, she leads both showrooms, assisting interior designers and clients with sourcing of fabrics, wallpaper, furniture, and more. She loves the growth and direction her career has taken over the past decade of working with the Thayers.

With over 16 years of experience, Darcie is known for her attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to make even the most complex projects feel effortless. She takes pride in supporting clients and designers at every stage, sourcing, coordinating, and executing with care. Darcie thrives in this environment, where creativity and collaboration intersect daily. She especially enjoys projects where she is involved from concept to completion, finding fulfillment in watching each vision come to life. Her passion for design and strong ties to the Tulsa design community make her a trusted and invaluable resource to both designers and clients.

Jason Thayer has been part of Thayer Upholstery for as long as he can remember. At just 13 years old, he officially joined the family business, learning the ropes alongside his brother Greg and their father, Ron. Over the years, Jason has become the go-to source for all things production-related, overseeing operations with a steady hand and a sharp eye for detail.

Today, Jason manages both the financial and production sides of the business, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. He thrives in the fast-paced, hands-on environment and enjoys the ever-changing nature of each day. His calm, helpful approach and commitment to doing things the right way have earned him the respect of both the team and the many designers who rely on Thayer Upholstery.

Jason is especially proud of the company’s work on projects like the Make-A-Wish Foundation sofa—a reflection of the heart and quality they pour into every piece. For him, it’s not just about building beautiful furniture, but about continuing a family tradition built on pride, patience, and purpose. Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with loved ones and pursuing his creative passions through art and music.
